Wiring Diagrams & Fuse Box

The Lancia Technical Department issued the following Sketches containing the wiring diagram and an index to the components for various models. The Sketches are small, in black and white and many of them are of poor quality. Instead, I have replaced them with the coloured versions, which were part of the original driver’s instruction books.

Although 2 sketches were produced for the 6^th Series B20 & 3 Sketches for B24S cars, only a very minor change to the wiring of the sidelight warning lamp (see #10 & #15 on B20 diagrams and #10 & #16 on the B24 diagrams) seems to have occurred. The wiring diagrams depicted in Sketches 469, 471 & 472 are thus not included particularly as in later versions of the driver’s instruction books only one wiring diagram is given for cars from B20-3817, from B20S-1436 & from B24S-1182.

General Notes:

1. All Aurelias had 10 fuses in the fuse-board although the wiring to, and devices supported by each fuse varied.

2. Cars from the start of the late 4th series B20, and late B24 Spider on, had Jaeger instruments and many detailed changes to the electrical equipment. The parts catalogue must be consulted for exact fittings including for individual cars.

B10 & other Series I cars

There are three different wiring diagrams for B10 and related cars as the table above reveals. The details of the scheme of electrical components are also different. The diagrams below come from the spare parts books, the driver’s instruction books and the Lancia C. AST Sketches. I have chosen the best quality where I have it

The wiring & dashboard instruments for the early 4^th series are very similar to those on the 3^rd series, but they are different in detail. On the early 4^th there are more warning lamps & other controls – a low oil pressure lamp, right & left flashing indicator warning lamps instead of a single one, a warning lamp for the choke hand control & the handbrake lever together with earthed contacts at each control, a reversing light & its switch, side lights warning lamp, cigar lighter has a light.

Dashboard, Control & Instruments currently shows only one dashboard illustration for the 3^rd& early 4^th series cars.

Although 3 wiring diagrams were issued as Lancia & C. AST Sketches, all these cars had the same number and numbering of components in the wiring diagrams. Differences are noted below
See section 8.7 for details on windscreen wiper motors. On the later cars Fuse 9 supported four wires one going directly to the wiper motor terminal 54 and another going to the + terminal of the wiper switch
Cars from B24S 1332 to 1570 differed from the later cars (as did their B20 counter-parts) in the wiring to the warning light for the side/parking lamps. On the earlier cars the warning light (16) is wired to terminal 58 of the main light switch (10), and the switch is supported by several fuses according to switch position. On the later cars the warning light is wired to Fuse 5 and thence to terminal 57 on the light switch (10). Terminal 58 is empty.
