General Description for all Models

Drum brakes all-round, expanding shoe type with SABIF hydraulic foot-operated control on all four wheels. Lockheed fluid used. Drums are inboard at the rear mounted with the transaxle unit.

Mechanical hand-operated brake acts on the rear brakes from a pendant handle underneath the centre of the dashboard – a much criticised feature due to its inaccessibility - on the other hand it was consistent with the front bench seat and very small transmission tunnel providing uninterrupted leg-space for the front seat passengers & driver. Good for those falling in love!

All brakes are single leading shoe, single trailing shoe except for the front brakes of the B20 5th & 6th Series and B24S Convertible, which are twin leading shoes and somewhat wider than the earlier type.
